How do I download Master Password to my computer. I do not see any "Download" button on your website.

On the homepage, just under the big image, you see the "Get it from..."-line.

For WIndows or Linux you need the Java-version.
Be sure to have the latest Java installed before.

I'm having the same problem as this. I downloaded the files from the link you said, but I can't find a way to install them. I've tried terminal, synaptic and using different browsers, but nothing is working for me.

OK, fixed it. The issue was with Java..

I had to reinstall my laptop and now I am unable to install Master Password. I have just upgraded to Java 8 and I get the error message:

The file '/home/magpie/Desktop/masterpassword-gui.jar' is not marked as executable. If this was downloaded or copied from an untrusted source, it may be dangerous to run. For more details, read about the executable bit.

This error is not generated by Master Password and I do not know or understand the system that is generating it; therefore it is hard for me to render assistance with it. I recommend you look into obtaining support from the Ubuntu community.

Thanks for the fast reply. Do you think maybe if I try a different download method it might work? Are there step-by-step installation instructions written anywhere?

    Fixed!

For noobs who visit this page after me, these were the two most helpful pages:

    https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-java-with-apt-get-on-ubuntu-16-04

https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1472009 (obviously adapted to recent Java version and appropriate filename)
