If I'm using the Java-GUI version, how can I tell what version I have?
on 27 Apr, 2017 01:57 AM
The Java version is only present in the JAR's manifest, which is in META-INF/MANIFEST.MF inside the JAR. Regardless, the app checks for the latest version on start-up; so if you get no warning, you're probably on the latest version.

Fair enough, but what if my firewall blocks the update check? How do I
determine what the latest version is?
I see version numbers on the releases page on GitHub, but the Java
"flavored" version doesn't appear to be the latest version.
Are there any release notes?
Could the version be embeded in the download name or identified in a
more prominent way?

I'll keep it in mind for the next Java iteration. The Java GUI hasn't needed an update in some time now.
